Colors on the shore

Colors on the shore

Watercolor on 140 lbs paper 15 x 11″

Down on the shore, on the sunny shore!
Where the salt smell cheers the land;
Where the tide moves bright under boundless light,
And the surge on the glittering sand.

Hi all !!!!….Sorry for being away my friends…..I thank each and every one of you who have been following me and I also thank all those who comment on my works…..they truly help me in creating better works and improve my abilities…….this was a quick half an hour work……with the colors which were left over in the palette……I was frustrated, I had lost my cool and just to regain my senses back I did this quick sketch……I have realized that once your mind is disturbed it is very hard to concentrate on any kind of work…..I was off due to some disturbances in the home front…..I do not know I might have been rude to my beloved but then I just couldn’t help it…..I also understand that she is all alone taking care of things both outside the home and inside……I also know that it gets difficult for a woman to actually manage all alone and also solve all problems….but I also believe that it is all in the mind….although it is easier said than done…..but still one must first believe in oneself….one must ensure and time and again embolden the fact that the one they love is there for them in whatever they do and wherever they are……and it is this belief which can assert and influence their belief further and make them be normal and not get hypersensitive……it also adds to the positivity of any relationship….and further makes life easy……hey I am no psychologist…..I was actually trying to cope up myself with the insensitivity shown by me towards her…..SORRY…….I am sure in the days to come she will be more understanding and cope up with the pressures……..I have said this earlier also….patience and persistence pays……it truly does….it is only time…..the wheel of fortune is never stagnant……hope you all like the painting……do keep liking and commenting……and thanks for all your support friends…….and specially for the invisible support provided by my beloved for everything that I do……stay safe…….be happy….forget the past…..march towards the future……enjoy the present……keep smiling…….the joys of life are never ending and they come unannounced….but they do come……take care….have a great weekend……God Bless!!!!

Footsteps on the Snow

Footsteps on the Snow

140 lbs Watercolor paper size 11 x 15″

We were walking in the snow.
Holding hands and hearts all aglow.
Winter wind whispers as white flakes dance.
In moonlight cool, burns a fiery romance.
Arm and arm in the snowy bliss.
Warm lips share a passionate kiss.
You are my lifelong desire, this, I know.
We were walking in the snow.

Hi all………was off the scene for quite long now…..trying to prove my innocence over and over again for something not done by me and yet suffering the vindictiveness of a few biased and unfair but learned and well aware brothers…….isn’t too awe inspiring is it ??? I know I am just travelling my fate……trying to consolidate and get back to terms…..good news that all the unfairness and legally unethical things done has been now understood in the right perspective……and soon I shall be released of all this pain…..soon I will be able to look at the mirror in front of me and look into the eyes of my beloved and tell I AM BACK……SEE I TOLD YOU..!!!! Well the painting was inspired from the bleak monotony after heavy snow when you walk across the fresh snow and leave your footsteps to show the definite marks that one leaves behind while walking their paths in life……”Footsteps on snow”……a very common scene may be painted once in a while by every artist……I tried to bring out the morning colors with ultramarine blue, crimson and gamboge hue lightly……..the trees were painted with burnt umber and ultramarine blue…….the white was left purposefully to give depth and depicting snow…….hope you like the painting……..what else…….hope you had a nice weekend……do take care and keep enjoying your life and the present specially…..wish you all the very best……God bless!!!!

Old Sawmill

Old Sawmill

Watercolor Paper 15 x 11″

They’ll saw wood for your
wide plank flooring,
for mantels and shelves
and signs,
for musical instruments,
tables and chairs,
woodsheds, garages and barns.

Hi Folks…..glad to be back again……..the above painting is of a sawmill. A sawmill’s basic operation is much like those of hundreds of years ago; a log enters on one end and dimensional lumber exits on the other end.
• After trees are selected for harvest, the next step in logging is felling the trees, and bucking them to length.
• Branches are cut off the trunk. This is known as limbing.
• Logs are taken by logging truck, rail or a log drive to the sawmill.
• Logs are scaled either on the way to the mill or upon arrival at the mill.
• Debarking removes bark from the logs.
• Decking is the process for sorting the logs by species, size and end use (lumber, plywood, chips).
I tried to bring out the light and shade of an old sawmill through the painting……the various complimentary colors used for the darks I think is the usp of the painting……the various shapes and sizes of the logs in the forefront gives variety and then there are the various textures. The light and shade of the painting is similar to our life…like the positives and the negatives and provides us with the power to use the negatives in our favour……one must see the brightness of the darks in our own lives……..and approach it with that hope….it is this hope that takes us to the future……it is this hope that makes our heart beat……that makes us look forward in life……hope you all like the painting…..take care all…….have a nice day/night……Ciao…..God Bless!!!!

Lord Ganesha (Ganpati Bappa Mourya)

Lord Ganesha (Ganpati Bappa Mourya)

Watercolor paper 140 lbs 15 x 11″

Ganesha is the god of wisdom, good fortune and prosperity.
Invoked at the beginning of a new venture or travel traditionally.
Ganesha’s head symbolizes wisdom, the atman or soul.
The ultimate supreme reality of all.
Ganesha’s right hand holds a goad.
Helping people on their eternal path, removing obstacles to achieve their goals.
Holds a rosary in his left hand to acknowledge.
Promoting continuous knowledge.

It is festival time now…..and more specially Ganesh Chaturthi as it is well known. Ganesha, also spelled Ganesa, also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka is a widely worshipped deity in the Hindu pantheon. His image is found throughout India and Nepal. Hindu sects worship him regardless of affiliations. Devotion to Ganesha is widely diffused and extends to Jains, Buddhists, and beyond India.
Although he is known by many attributes, Ganesha’s elephant head makes him easy to identify. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honoured at the start of rituals and ceremonies. Ganesha is also invoked as patron of letters and learning during writing sessions. Several texts relate mythological anecdotes associated with his birth and exploits and explain his distinct iconography.
Ganesha has been represented with the head of an elephant since the early stages of his appearance in Indian art. Puranic myths provide many explanations for how he got his elephant head. One of his popular forms, Heramba-Ganapati, has five elephant heads, and other less-common variations in the number of heads are known. While some texts say that Ganesha was born with an elephant head, he acquires the head later in most stories . The most recurrent motif in these stories is that Ganesha was created by Parvati using clay to protect her andShiva beheaded him when Ganesha came between Shiva and Parvati. Shiva then replaced Ganesha’s original head with that of an elephant. Details of the battle and where the replacement head came from vary from source to source. Another story says that Ganesha was created directly by Shiva’s laughter. Because Shiva considered Ganesha too alluring, he gave him the head of an elephant and a protruding belly.
Ganesha’s earliest name was Ekadanta (One Tusked), referring to his single whole tusk, the other being broken. Some of the earliest images of Ganesha show him holding his broken tusk. The importance of this distinctive feature is reflected in the Mudgala Purana, which states that the name of Ganesha’s second incarnation is Ekadanta. Ganesha’s protruding belly appears as a distinctive attribute in his earliest statuary, which dates to the Gupta period (4th to 6th centuries). This feature is so important that, according to the Mudgala Purana, two different incarnations of Ganesha use names based on it: Lambodara (Pot Belly, or, literally, Hanging Belly) and Mahodara (Great Belly). Both names are Sanskrit compounds describing his belly. The Brahmanda Purana says that Ganesha has the name Lambodara because all the universes the past, present, and future are present in him.
The painting is inspired from the festival season ongoing…….and being the successful remover of all problems from the life of his devotees Lord Ganesha is quite famous in India…..specially in the west……and with all the prayers being offered it is for sure the pains and problems will surely be eradicated……God Bless all!!!!…..take care….it’s the weekend…….have a nice day/night and a great weekend…..take care…..ciao……till the next post.

On the Toes

On the Toes

Handmade paper 14 x 22″

Elegant poise, on the toes,
stunning steps for all one knows,
great dedication and feelings deep,
melodic music and the heart to beep.

On the toes is influenced from the dance form Ballet and it is dedicated to my beloved. Ballet is a type of performance dance that originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It has since become a widespread, highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary based on French terminology. It has been globally influential and has defined the foundational techniques used in many other dance genres. Ballet may also refer to a ballet dance work, which consists of the choreography and music for a ballet production. A well-known example of this is The Nutcracker, a two-act ballet that was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a music score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The word ballet comes from the French and was borrowed into English around 1630. The French word in turn has its origin in Italian balletto, a diminutive of ballo (dance) which comes from Latin ballo, ballare, meaning “to dance”.
I take my inspiration from this form of dance….it requires tremendous amount of effort and tremendous amount of dedication……Time and again I am attracted to this dance…..and in a similar manner to my beloved……she has been through thick and thin with me in my life….she is my inspiration…..she has been my advisor and critique…..I am able to fight against all odds today because of her and my love grows for her each day….I only hope she understands it as much I understand her…..heck sorry folks for getting carried away with personal stuffs….but that’s what life is….one cannot be under the veil 24 x 7…….the true essence of life is to exist with all the pros and cons….and if one has any drawbacks….to accept it and fight on……I do the same….and I know I can…….as I have already said earlier in one of the posts that there are two “P’s” in life which “PAYS” and they are ”Perseverance” and “Patience”……have the will and you can have your way…..that’s it folks…..forget the pains that you must have undergone….forget all the wrongs that might have been done to you……just continue to persevere….with all the patience that you have…..you surely will be the WINNER……take care folks….have a nice day/night……ciao….God Bless!!!

Offshore

Offshore

Handmade 440 gsm paper 22×14″

Scanty spread,
water like butter on bread,
cloudy sky,
two boats offshore, one on the ply.

I was able to finish this painting as promised……the paper is handmade 440 gsm and I was using it for the first time……I am truly happy with the outcome…..the concept with two boats on the shore and one boat in the water was truly attractive…….the paper has played its role……I could get the textures at every attempt and that too the first one…..the scene is placid and strikes at first sight itself…..well it just indicates the calm before the storm…..there is storm in my life too…..I am just trying to control my mind……it becomes sometimes truly beyond imagination how hurting it is…..as it is, it is difficult to spend one’s time separated from people you want to be with, people you love……and it is more difficult to face any situation without the support of your loved ones. Hope you like the painting…..enjoy yourself…..have a nice day/night…..take care…..God Bless!!!
